Credentials Dr. Kurz is certified as a Plastic Surgeon by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia and the B.C. Medical Association. Dr. Kurz is also a member of the Northern Medical Society and is a Clinical Instructor at UBC. Following the completion of her Plastic Surgery training at the University of Alberta, Dr. Kurz pursued additional subspecialty training in Breast Reconstruction and Cosmetic Surgery with Dr. John Semple and Dr. Mitchell Brown in Toronto. All of the above qualifications, training and experience allow Dr. Kurz to combine her thorough knowledge of anatomy, her technical skills and innovations, and her aesthetic sense to provide her patients with the results they desire in a safe and comfortable environment. Some non-invasive procedures are performed by nursing staff, under the direction of Dr. Kurz. Examples of non-invasive procedures include certain types of laser treatments and chemical peels. All of our nursing staff have either RN or LPN certification. Nursing qualifications are the minimum requirements allowed to perform even non-invasive procedures in this practice. Results, safety and comfort are our top priorities.
